Description
Walnuts in shell keep reasonably well for at least nine months after harvesting. They keep much improved than walnut kernels (flesh) that has not been vacuum packed. The seed is a shrunken shell enclosing the edible kernel which is covered by a thin bitter tasting sheath. Walnuts in general have a bitter nutty taste.
